This update contains a ground-up rebuild to how the app communicates with other apps on the system, and should fix the problem where the test card would display despite Pro Webcam being connected to a camera. Previously, this was caused by VPN or other security software interfering, but the macOS Ventura 13.2 update caused this problem to become significantly more common.

When running on macOS Monterey 12.3 or higher, Cascable Pro Webcam is now compatible with FaceTime, Safari, QuickTime Player, Slack, Discord, Webex, and any other macOS app that uses webcams in a standard manner.

Vastly Improved Sony Support
This version of Pro Webcam greatly increases compatibility with Sony cameras. On top of our existing support, the following cameras can now be used when connected via USB in “PC Remote” mode:
- α7 II, α7 III, α7 IV
- α7R II, α7R III, α7R IV
- α7S, α7S II, α7S III
- α7C
- α9, α9 II
- α1
- α6100, α6300, α6400, α6500, α6600
- ZV-E10, ZV-1
- RX100 VI, RX100 VII
The following cameras can now be used via WiFi in “PC Remote” mode, which allows the camera to connect to your existing WiFi network — meaning you don’t need to sacrifice your computer’s WiFi connection to the camera:

The following cameras can now be used via WiFi in “Control with Smartphone” mode, which has your computer join a WiFi network generated by the camera. If you have a wired network connection, this is a great way to use your camera as a wireless webcam:

Added a camera settings panel that’ll let you adjust various camera settings while it’s connected to Cascable Pro Webcam. This makes adjusting the picture to look its best incredibly simple and fast. Exact settings available vary by camera model.

If your camera’s battery starts to run really low while you’re on a video call, Cascable Pro Webcam will warn you.

Cascable Pro Webcam will now (optionally) show autofocus information in the camera preview. This doesn’t affect final output.

If you’re running another app that’s known to interfere with Cascable Pro Webcam’s connection to your camera, you’ll be warned when trying to connect to a camera.

If your camera’s live view stream stops while in use by Cascable Pro Webcam, the app will attempt to restart it before disconnecting.
