About the Cascable Studio 7 Pro Upgrade
Note: If you purchased Cascable on or after Cascable Studio 7 was released (December 5th, 2024), this article doesn’t apply to you — you’ll get everything Cascable Studio has to offer with your initial purchase.
Cascable Studio 7 is the largest and most ambitious update in the app’s history, with tons of new features and a whole new Mac app!
It’s such a large update that we’re drawing a line under it as a paid upgrade point for some existing users. We’re referring to the new features included in this paid upgrade as Cascable Studio 7 Pro.
Cascable Studio 7 Pro includes:
- Cascable Studio on the Mac
- Applying 3D LUTs to live view
- Negative Mode
- Live view Picture in Picture (iOS only)
- Live view MetalFX upscaling
- Onion skinning
- Working with video files
Your path to Cascable Studio 7 Pro depends on how you purchased the app.
If you purchased a subscription
If you’re subscribed to Cascable Pro, there’s nothing for you to do but update the app — active subscriptions always unlock the newest features and the Mac app.
You’ll also remain locked into your existing subscription price as long as your subscription remains active.
If you purchased a non-subscription option
If you purchased a non-subscription option, your path to Cascable Studio 7 Pro depends on when your original purchase was made:

If you purchased within two years of Cascable Studio 7’s release (i.e., on or after December 5th, 2022), you’ll receive the upgrade for free. There’s nothing for you to do but update the app on your iOS device(s) and install the Mac app — your free upgrade will be granted automatically.

If you purchased more than two years ago, (i.e., before December 5th, 2022) you can purchase the Cascable Studio 7 Pro upgrade at a heavily-discounted price. You’ll be presented with an option to do so once you update the app on your iOS device(s) or install the Mac app.
IMPORTANT: If you purchased Cascable before August 11th, 2016, the Mac version of Cascable Studio 7 won’t be able to see that purchase and won’t offer the discounted upgrade. To claim your discounted upgrade, purchase it on your iPhone or iPad — once purchased, the Mac version will fully unlock.
Once you have Cascable Studio 7 Pro via subscription, free upgrade, or paid upgrade, you’ll get all of the new features and the Mac app. If you choose not to upgrade, all of the existing features you had will continue to be unlocked in Cascable Studio 7 on iPhone and iPad — you just won’t get access to the new Cascable Studio 7 Pro features or the Mac app.
Cascable purchases are tied to the Apple ID signed into the App Store when the purchase was made, and work across multiple devices and platforms. Purchasing the Cascable Studio 7 Pro upgrade in either the iOS or Mac app will unlock Cascable Studio 7 Pro features on both iOS and the Mac.
