About Cascable Transfer’s Discontinuation
Cascable Transfer has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase.
Why?
Cascable Studio is now available on the Mac, and is a far more powerful app. It contains all of Cascable Transfer’s old features and lots more.
Now that Cascable Studio is available on the Mac, Cascable Transfer doesn’t serve a purpose and has been discontinued. The app is no longer available for purchase, and will no longer receive updates.
I Previously Purchased Cascable Transfer. Can I Still Use It?
We haven’t disabled Cascable Transfer itself, so it’ll continue work just as it always has. However, since it won’t receive any further updates, it’s likely to deteriorate in functionality if you update to future macOS releases or new cameras.
Since Cascable Transfer has been delisted from the App Store, you’ll need to visit your App Store account’s purchase history to re-download the app, since it won’t show up in regular App Store searches.
How Do I Claim My Discounted Upgrade To Cascable Studio?
If you previously purchased Cascable Transfer from the App Store (i.e., on or after August 29th, 2019), you can claim a discounted upgrade to Cascable Studio. To claim your discount:
- Make sure Cascable Transfer is installed on your Mac and is activated. You can check by opening Cascable Transfer and looking in the “Purchase” tab of the app’s settings window — if your app is activated, you’ll see the following:

Install and open Cascable Studio. If you previously had it installed, make sure you’re updated to at least version 7.0.2, which was released on December 13th, 2024.

In Cascable Studio, click any one of the orange “Pro” buttons in the app to bring up the purchase screen. As long as you have a qualifying version of Cascable Transfer installed, you’ll see a Cascable Transfer Upgrade button:
- Click the Cascable Transfer Upgrade button and follow the instructions. Cascable Studio will ask you to point it to your Cascable Transfer installation, after which it’ll validate your purchase for the discounted upgrade. Once that’s successful, you’ll be directed to purchase the discounted upgrade to Cascable Studio.
